Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center | Lyndhurst, NJ Engineers

The worlds oldest and largest private cancer center, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) has devoted more than a century to patient care as well as to innovative research, making significant contributions to new and better therapies for the treatment of cancer. Founded in 1884 as the New York Cancer Hospital by a group that included John J. Astor and his wife. The Lyndhurst Facility is a back-office computer data center for MSKCC. Due to increased computing capacity, the HVAC system required upgrade.

E2PM was hired to provide engineering for the retrofit of the existing building structure to accept the new glycol system with associated evaporators/coolers located on the roof of a 10 story office building.

E2PM conducted the field investigation and survey of the existing structural steel to determine the allowable load capacity for the upgrade specifications. E2PM performed a structural analysis of the existing structural members and reviewed as-built drawings to determine proper load and weight distribution. Based on this information E2PM developed structural design drawings. Following the completion of the upgrade installation E2PM conducted an as-built inspection of the upgrade and to include modification of design drawings to reflect steel specifications and connections.
