Mid-Level Architectural Historian

 Overview:

E2 Project Management, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Full-Time, Permanent, mid-level Architectural Historian to work out of our Rockaway, NJ, or Manasquan, NJ office. Applicants should understand the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), FCC Programmatic Agreements, applicable Section 106 regulations, and the regulations of various Historic Preservation Offices. Previous experience with some or all the following is required:

  • architectural resource surveys,
  • Section 106 compliance,
  • National Register of Historic Places nominations,
  • HABS/HAER documentation,
  • design guidelines,
  • historic structure reports,
  • preservation planning, and/or
  • researching and designing interpretive materials.
  • Experience with either archaeology or historic architecture preferred.

 Responsibilities:

  • Completing historic architectural resource surveys from start to finish, including background research, context development, field documentation, report writing, and survey form preparation.
  • Evaluating historic architectural resources in relation to the National Register of Historic Places (NHRP) criteria and within the framework of the historic and architectural contexts developed for the project.
  • Assessing the effects of proposed undertakings on identified historic properties in accordance with the regulations found at 36CFR Part 800.
  • Developing recommendations for eliminating, minimizing, or mitigating adverse effects (when appropriate) and assisting clients with Section 106 consultation to resolve adverse effects.
  • Leading or contributed to developing other historic preservation documents, including National Register nominations, state-level and HABS/HAER/HALS documentation, historic context studies, historic preservation plans, and other projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Possess a Master’s degree in historic preservation, architectural history, history, historic architecture, or related field;
  • Experience with Tribal and Interested Party consultations, FCC filings, and E-106 projects a must.
  • Meet the Secretary of the Interior’s Professional Qualifications in Architectural History;
  • Demonstrate at least two years of relevant full-time experience;
  • Work well independently and as a team member;
  • Have excellent technical writing skills;
  • Be able to work within project budgets and schedules; and
  • Have the flexibility to travel overnight for projects.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience primarily in NJ and NY
  • BS in Civil Engineering, with 5-10 years of continuous and progressively expanding relevant design experience in Site/Civil and/or Structural Engineering.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office are required.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable PA, NJ & NY building and design codes and also be knowledgeable in the AISC, ACI, ASCE 7, TIA-EIA 222, and ASCE 10.
  • Strong skills in structural analytical software programs, such as STAAD III and AutoCAD
  • Experience managing projects and employees
  • Master’s Degree in engineering preferred

Job Description:

E2PM is seeking a Construction Manager/Resident Engineer (CM/RE) to support construction of tower projects in Northeastern Pennsylvania.  The candidate will manage CM tasks for the construction projects and oversee the construction of general contractors.  Assist in the performance of field quality control observations, assessments and/or inspection of construction projects.  Assist in the production of daily reports, calculate quantities, measure field quantity and produce construction documents.  Monitor and coordinate subcontractor work progress.  The candidate will schedule reviews and construction coordination.

The Construction Manager/Resident Engineer will work closely with home office staff to coordinate project design and development, and provide quality assurance monitoring projects.  Professional contact with staff, consultants, suppliers, contractors and the general public is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The candidate will perform duties of a Resident Engineer on one or more assigned construction projects, assuring quality and workmanship and conformance to contract specifications and plans.  Performs duties as a Project Coordinator, coordinating design work, and other project development activities as needed.  Coordinates sub-consultants and others and performs necessary work including field research, design, and oversee drafting, to provide plans, specifications and engineering estimates for projects as needed.  Reviews designs for conformity with client/owner’s policies and practices.

  • Must possess considerable knowledge of investigation, design and construction of towers and infrastructure in rural environments;
  • Contemporary knowledge of building materials, and specifications
  • Demonstrate good communications skills and ability to manage and coordinate other inspection and testing staff on assigned project.

The position requires daily inspections of project sites spread across the northeast of Pennsylvania.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Civil/Structural/Geotechnical Engineering (or related field) is required
  • A minimum of 5 plus years work experience as a Resident Engineer/Construction Manager or Project Manager on infrastructure projects withing Eastern PA is required.
  • Experience with the PA Department of General Services is a definite plus
