Port Newark Container Terminal | Port Newark, NJ Engineers

Port Newark Container Terminal (PNCT) located in Port Newark, New Jersey occupies 259 acres, handling over 600,000 containers annually. In 2011, PNCT secured a long-term extension of its lease agreement with the Port Authority of New York/New Jersey for an additional 20 years through 2030, along with a 30 year option through 2050. As one of the largest infrastructure projects in New Jersey, PNCT will invest $500 million into the expansion before the year 2030. The expansion is expected to double the number of containers moving through the terminal, creating significant economic growth within the region. The Port Authority of New York/New Jersey will invest up to an additional $150 million in improvements to the PNCT facility.

Further expansion plans include the development of 80 additional acres, berth deepening and upgraded capital equipment including three Super Post-Panamax ship-to-shore cranes (2013) and mobile container-handling equipment (2012).

E2PM provided construction stakeout during various parts of the expansion project such as the installation of the new transfer pads, pavement areas to stage the containers and the new LDSS Strad building.
