E2PM’s staff mentored aspiring young engineers from Sparta Middle School at the Future City New Jersey Regional Competition held at Rutgers University on Saturday, January 17, 2015.

It was a full day, beginning at 8:30am and running until after 6:00pm in the evening.  In addition to presenting their Future City Models, the day included workshops and exhibits for the students to attend.  Students also met and spoke with over a dozen industry leaders at the “Meet the Professionals” session.  E2PM’s Allison Ferrante, EIT, watched proudly as the energetic and confident students from Sparta Middle School presented their Future City Models to several teams of judges.  In the end, one Sparta Team, “All Natural Future Farmers,” received a special award for “Most Innovative Designed Infrastructure Systems.” Ms. Ferrante is extremely proud of the work accomplished by the Sparta students and said, “The students were eager to learn this year and it showed on competition day.  Each year, the students learn more and more, and our teams get stronger.  It is a great experience for both the students and professionals involved.”  E2PM would like to congratulate Sparta Middle School for their hard work and dedication.  We extend our appreciation to Scott Lubarsky, PE, for executing yet another successful Future City Competition and connecting New Jersey’s students with industry professionals.
